6 quad s series
System will not boot as bios says that it cannot find disk despite 2 being connected and working. Suspect the motherboard not working.Is there anything I can do except buy a new motherboard?

Try new SATA cables, check if they are OK and connected on RIGHT primary SATA connection (NOT on RAID). If you have another HDD, try it too.
