I've got a handed down, Seiko Men's Day/Date Dress Watch. It is the Model SGF-204, its a wonderful watch that has long withstood the test of time, wear, & tear and still works great. Yet, it IS handed down, so I do not have any instructions.
My problem is with the Day/Date section of the watch. There are English days along with what seem to be French days, from my very basic knowledge of French. I want to know how to set these dates to use them, as in, what mechanism allows me to change and set this.
I know the Crown can be pulled out to adjust the 'settings' of the watch, but up until now, I just pull out the crown and keep trying different lengths out, adjusting forward and backward, until each thing I want is set correctly. The problem that keeps arising is that the watch will turn from MON, to LUN, the French abbreviation for Lundi, Monday, the second day of the week. Honestly, I'd like to know everything I can do with the Crown, everything I can set and adjust. I wish Seiko just had .pdf or uploaded instructions somewhere only for the SGF models, because that would work, but I can’t find them anywhere. Any and all information is appreciated.
Thank you.

If you pull out the stem 1/2 way, you set the date one direction, and the day the other. If you pull it out all the way, it moves the hands and sets the time.
Here is a link to Seiko's collection of instruction and support manuals. It goes by the caliber number on the back of the watch which you didnt post but it is very easy to follow directions on the site to find the caliber number and corresponding manual. hope this helps.
