Computers & Internet - Microsoft - VISTA - Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Appreciate the direct "Ask me" again and likewise the previous ratings.
To my knowledge, Vista x64 is just an x32 with 64 bit addressing. Some have reported that 64 bit on a Core 2 Duo isn't a very good idea with the extra speed gain of x64 over x86 being marginal for now. Offhand, you might be better off still with X32 at least for the time being.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

A couple of things to try:
- config the CMOS/BIOS to default;
- check/clean/interchange the memories;
- check/verify/update your motherboard/chipsets drivers.
