It could be rectifier/regulator or ECM (electronic ignition control module), the rectifier will probably be under the seat. It looks like it is made of "pot" metal and has cooling fins. It is usually attached to the frame by two bolts and has a couple of electrical wiring connectors. Disconnect and unbolt. Look at the back of it; it should be a shiny plastic type material. . If you can locate the rectifier on the bike, take it off and look at the back.99.9 % of the time, if it is bad, you will know by looking at the back. You will have to remove it to see this though. You probably won't be able to tell anything from looking at the front. If it looks ok, you may be able to find out how to check it with a ohmmeter/multimeter. If it is bad, it will be bulging, charred, maybe have a hole in it, and have that distinct burnt electrical smell. If so, it has let the "magic smoke" out. A new one will be pricey $200 - $400. Try EBay or used ATV parts websites. I would not think it was the stator. They seldom fail. I could be a bad connection somewhere or loss of good ground for the stator or rectifier. This is harder to find. Take a look at the back of the rectifier.

If the starters clicking it should be getting voltage,can you remove the starter??if you can remove the starter and leave the wires on try starting it,if the starter spins off the engine you should try and turn the motor and see if its locked up,if the starter dosent spin off the engine with the wires hooked up you have a bad starter.

If it\'s a matter of a fuel problem, meaning it\'s turning over but not starting, it could be you need to put a teaspoon of fuel in the carberator.
It happens all the time for me. If I don\'t ride for a few weeks I have to take the compartment off under the seat. There will be a brass colored round cup covering the carberator. Remove the 2 screws holding it down. Pour a teaspoon of fuel in the carberator and try starting it. Sometimes it takes a few times to start. It works for me. Good Luck
