8hp johnson, 1999,plugs good, wires good,have put in new gasoline 50.1 mix, runs great at higher rpms. When cold start, it will idle at slow rpm. Once warmed up or a hot day, it will not idle when the throttle is at idle. It idles for a bit and then stumbles and stops. It will restart ok and run, but I have it on a small boat and need to run more at idle than fast. my guess is power pack , but How do I determine before I go buy it

Have u tried to adjust you timming linkage? its on the side of the motor where the shifter linkage is try to turn the bolt in or out while running you may get it to idle better if the power pack was bad the engine would cut out at all speeds
