93 dodge shadow is jumpy more so when started but also when driving, I forgott to check oil until was going up hill and it went slower then ever 2nd gear did nothing it usually powers up my acceration it is an automatic anyway stopped and checked oil at the top of hill it was super low I added a court it responded a little better but still runs like it is hiccuping alot and constantly really bad in reverse and idle Any ideas what needs to be done to fix the issue???
Hi Corwin, Your vehicle seems very neglected to me. I would suggest a full service, tune up, and inspection to find out what else is needed. First replace oils and fluids and that includes brake fluid. Replace all filters, oil air and fuel. Have the gearbox flushed and the filter in it replaced. Only when the engine is running correctly can the gearbox perform. The gear box will also need repair, as fluid should not leak. Regards John
Hi Corwin, Don't worry I know how tough things are. We've had them like that for years in Africa. You can save a lot of cash by doing a lot o fthe stuff yourself. I'm sure you can change the engine oil transmission oil and all the filters. The spark plugs should be replaced one at a time and that way you don't get the firing order mixed up. If you have to take off more than one plug lead at a time mark them first so you know where they go back. Sounds as if you will need some expert help to sort out the leakage from the ****** though. If you need help don't hesitate to ask. Best regards JohnHi Corwin, Don't worry I know how tough things are. We've had them like that for years in Africa. Hi Corwin. If your vehicle is fitted with electronic fuel injection it is most likely to be fitted with an electronic management system. If there is a symbol which illuminates on the instrument panel that looks like a picture of an engine, or displays the caution triangle, it will have a fault code list and a way of reading it. Many workshops in developed countries offer the code readout free of charge as a service to clients. Find a dealer offering that service and take it there. Once you have a code read out one of your pals should be able to fix the problem for you. Regards John.Hi Corwin.
