93 town car how do you remove the shift cable from the trans mission lever without breaking the plastic end? It popped off no problem but it wont latch back on the ball. It looks like thwe yellow piece should slide or pop off? how do i do it so i can get one from the junk yard

Use a pair of 45 degree pliers or a small pry bar that has the 45 degree end on it. Lubricate the pivot ball really well and pop the cable off.
I just pry them with a screwdriver to get them off. Then I use a pair of channel locks to put them back on.
