96 eclipse need more info
Ok while driving check engine light came on, the car died and had 2 tow home, found oil n spark plugs, bear n mind car ran fine prior no smoke no sounds , i replaced the valve cover gasket and rings and plugs, tried to start but got no spark, checked coil pack distributor, they r fine. while trying to start there was a pop sound from harness below throttle, help....

This sounds like the timing belt is shot. Remove the distributor cap, have your helper crank the engine. Is the rotor turning?? If not, then it is the timing belt. Some engines are rather forgiving when the belt breaks, some will get bent valves. Frankster016
