96 Mercury Sable (Serpitine belt)
I havew 96 Mercury Sable,> My problem is my belt broke while i was driving. I have a replacement belt and have palced the belt onto the vehicle as shown in diagram on hood. Now what i have encountered is the tension in the belt. How do I loosen tension from the tensioner to complete the installation of the belt?

There should either be a whole for a ratchet or there is a nut on the tension pulley that you will have to size a socket to. put either tool on and pull in the direction of up( you'll see what i mean when you get there). be gentle once you have the belt in place not to let it snap back into place so as to not cause any damage anywhere else.
