98 Chevy Venture. Sounds like golf balls in the engine
Have a 98 chevy venture. About a year ago it blowed a head gasket and leaked a little antifreeze in the engine, then about 6 months later it started ticking, then went to a knock at higher rpms and over time started hitting lower RPMs. Now it sounds like golf balls in the engine. On the last oil change the oil light would come on at idle, so I upped the oil weight to 20 40 and it stayed off. Im thinking that its the rod bearings. Any idea

It could be either, main bearings or rod bearings, you seem to have a handle on it,now all we can do is take bets when the big knock happens!
