98 Z-71 5.7 just replaced starter which worked fine for about 6 starts but now it turns over but does not try to start at all. I have fuel and spark on Plug wires. Wires on starter are tight, could it be a solenoid gone bad?

The solenoid is fine since your starter is turning over. You say you have spark, but there is such a thing as bad spark. How did you verify your spark? If you used spark plugs to test, your spark should be a bright yellow. If it is dull blue, your spark is bad, or too low. How old are your spark plugs? Is there any sludge or residue on any of them? I do not remember by heart, but your spark voltage should be around 25 000 volts or so. I have never seen spark below 12k. some go as high as 50k.
