99 plymouth breeze was running just fine but once I stopped at a stop sign it died. Plenty of gas in the gas tank - I think it is an eletrical issue. Can anyone help
Is the Engine Cranking? And DO The LIGHTS In The INSTRAMENT PANNEL Light Up? IF SO Do the Following You Need to Check it For SPARK ALSO and Be SURE of the FUEL Pressure. If at all Possible A CODE Reading Also sould be Performed , Witch MAY LEAD you Directly to the Component Failure that Has Caused your NO START Condition. < This is ALL Assuming the Electrical System is In Tact<. The Checks on the ELECTRICAL SYSTEM that can be performed are BASIC and FEW. such as Battery VOLTS at Proper Volts 12.5 is the Proper Voltage Reading Also A LOAD TEST on Battery It Must Be ABLE to HOLD A LOAD of 3 VOLTS For 30 seconds In Other Words (9.5 reading On TESTER for 30 Secs. NEXT is The Terminals They Must Be CLEAN and TIGHT, Commonly Seen is a Poor Ground @ the Battery. Also Look For Bad Connection at ALL POWER LEADS that Originate at the POSITIVE TERMINAL of the Battery Some have FUSABLE LINKS in them and can Blow and Cause your Condition. All Of these Items Should Be Checked to Properly DIAGNOSE this Problem.
Before it died, did it act as though it were running out of gas? If so, then it may be a bad fuel pump. Did it start up again, or not? Without knowing all the details of how it was acting when (or before) it died, it may be difficult to answer. Please reply back and let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for getting back. If it sounds like it is spinning a little fater than it used to, th timing belt or chain may have broken. I am not saying that it is, but I would have that checked also. 97 Ford Escort did the same thing to a friend. He replaced alot of parts when it wound up being the belt.
