99 vw diesel new beetle. NOT STARTING
It's actually a 99 vw diesel new beetle. NOT STARTING i noticed it was sluggish uphills for months., i parked it at home after daily driving, went to leave 5 hrs. later.. turn the key- da dadadadadadada...da dadadadada never starts..just sounds like it might but then nothing. i get a jump from a brand new battery jumper, nothing..then dashboard flashes..still nothing. charge battery overnight, on slow charge. next day try to start it. nothing this time not even dashboard lights. here's what i keep hearing rumors about (taking battery out will make your car not start- anyone else hear that you'll need to reset computer? etc) i took the battery to charge /out of car- put battery back in, not even a light comes on. take it to autozone for free testing. battery is dead in both posts. so i buy a new one, get it in vw..lights come on normally again etc. but STILL da dadadadadada all over again..what could it be? i tried some relay throttle switch thing i heard was behind the manifold, but there was no switch or lever that moved. so that didnt help. i can't drive it to a shop and i can't find any info on internet. so i'm stuck w a NEW battery and a dead bug.
