A garage has presented me with a bill for R16000 They will not release my car until I pay the bill. By their own admission, they have completely misdiagnosed the problem
They took the gear box apart and installed new components. They have now found out that the actual cause of the problem is that my car needs a new slave cylinder Total price R6000. The original problematic symptom was that my car would only drive in 1st & 2nd gear - as it warmed up, the higher gears became accessible. They are insisting I pay the R16000 for a non-existent problem before they will release my car. What do I do?
