A pitco frialator in a restaurant will operate for about 5-6 hours and then blow the pilot light and burner out. I have put a thermometer in the oil, watched it work and the oil temps wont exceed 375 degrees. the unit seems to work while i am there but it has been out for the last 2 mornings and I get called in at 5 am to re-light it so we can prepare for the morning breakfast time. Then usually about 1130am I get another call to redo this yet again as it has blown the pilot out. The thermostat when i have it up to temp clicks at 340 degrees(shut down side) and 360 degrees(light side). Where do i start looking or what do i need to replace?
I assume that the thermometer you are using is calibrated. You have to check the continuity on the hi limit terminals once the pilot light shuts off. If it has no reading, the hi limit trips prematurely and it needs replacement.
