Uninstall the driver if it is listed in control panel, Add/Remove programs. Than download and install and run the free program below; http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ Click on the Registry icon and run the cleaner. Restart you're system. As the system boots enter the bios. Find the audio setting and make sure it is enabled or set to AC'97. Save and exit the bios. You're system will auto restart. When windows finishes loading re-install the audio driver software. If you still receive the error message than check the motherboard audio pins. See pages 45 and 46. If you are not connecting front panel audio than item A on page 45 should have a 2-pin jumper covering pins 5 and six and pins 9 and 10. This will send the audio to the motherboards rear audio port (lime green in color).
