ABS Light And Stability controll light
Hi I have a jaguar xj6 v8 sports model 1998. The abs light stays on all the time also the stability control failiure sign stays on all the time. Could you please tell me how to fix this problem as the mot is due soon and it will fail on this. Thank you Walford.

The most likely root cause of the problem has been determined, and its step by step fix is also detailed if you have the skills to do that yourself. See the excellent detailed website posting by Dan Jensen on the Jag-lovers.org site forums.jag-lovers.org under avsn.php?1169101j41 . He describes what goes wrong in the $2800 ABS control electronic board, and that simply re-soldering a few heavy wires to the board will fix the trouble. But it requires some mechanical work to get that module out, and then some more work to saw the plastic case apart to get to that circuit board. - Best regards - MHH
ONLY replace the module if the code is a C1095 pump/motor.
If the cose is anything else like a c1155 etc then the problem is elsewhere. You have no way of knowing until you get the codes scanned. C1095 means the module which is the black electronic box next to the abs pump. If it is the c1155/c1154 then it is usually the abs harness. The wire connector that goes from the top of the inner fender(wing) to the abs sensor on the wheel hub.
Good Luck
The abs module is the problem, everyone on the early xk8's goes bad, so this was not an inappropriate answer! C1155 means sensors, c1095 means the abs module!
????????????????
what happens to the sensor please thanksAdd a Comment
Could be your wheel sensors. Try cleaning them also the vanes on the hubs. as the module needs the get a reading from all wheels before the light go out. Hope this helps
I have 1999 Jaguar XK8. Had same problem with ABS, traction and stability control. Check EBay and found BBA-REMAN selling they repair services. Place starting bid $35.00 on Jaguar ABS module and won. Free shipping and life time warranty. Just received back and after installation all ABS and brake lights disappear. No more traction control, stability control fail messages on the clock. Only Check Engine light was on. Reset light with chip scanner. Driving car for all day and no more problem. It wasn't big money to take a chance. And now one of my friend with 2000 SAAB has the same problem with ABS. We just found on EBay "Buy it Now" $50.00 repair service on SAAB ABS module. And now its on its way to BBA-REMAN. Keep fingers cross it will work this time again.
The only way to get a accurate decision on what the fault is take your vehicle to a local garage and ask for a diagnostic check this can cost between £30 and £50 if you are lucky it could be a case of just clearing the fault codes on your vehicle
You can go to this website BBA-REMAN.com. They will fix it and it's only $300 I think. I suggest calling them, you have to send them the part, but it's easily accessible and you can still drive your car.
You can get this same module fiixed out of Tenn for $60.00!! Its on ebay and I have used these guys 3 times and they do a great job...
