Hi, If water was left in the tub when it was being used for wet pick-up, and wasn't emptied before using again for dry, you have sucked water up in and on motor windings. About the only thing you can do at this point, is to let the motor dry for a day or so and see if it continues. Check to see if something didn't get caught in the motor that may be making this noise. I hate to tell you but you may loose the motor. Time will tell. If you still have good suction, I would continue to use it until it dies on you. Check for any debri and dry it good. Keep me posted. Best of luck to you, Shastalaker7

Empty water from basin and clean with regular dish soap and sponge. When basin is removed you should see the impeller on the bottom of the Rainbow. You should be able to remove impeller and clean it out. It sounds like something is caught in it which would account for the noise. FYI: I sold these things to make money during college. They definitely look cooler now. The ones I sold were an ugly brown color. It is an awesome product but Rainbow's reseller/distributor structure drives the price up really high. I actually made $500 to $800 for each one I sold! Hopefully their repair services rates are more reasonable.
You should be able to hold crown nut with a wrench or pliers and turn the impeller with your hands.
Instructions for removing the impeller should be in the manual as they recommend that you clean the impleller periodically. If you have trouble removing it you should definitely consult the manual so you don't risk breaking it.

Hi I have a rainbow e series I bought about 3 years ago, i bought in another country and now im leaving in the US. The other day it was working fine we cleaned the filter and we also cleaned the part that you use for cleaning the rugs... Yesterday it stopped working it turns on but it makes a sound but it does not turn fully on with the strength that it usually have... I would appreciate if you have an idea of what I can do to make it work thanks
