Accelerator pump problem
I have a 1971 plymouth barracuda with a 318 2barrel rochester carb.every time i replace the accelerator pump ,it swells in 24 hours
the first day it will start fine after that you must pour gas in the carb. to start it.i have installed 3 different brand of carb. kits and they are all the same.the last time i put the carb. on the work bench with clean gas in it, and the pump still swelled after 24 hours. any help please.

I would change gas brands, it may be an additive they use, have seen this before on my own car, a 1973 NOVA, I went to a carb shop they sold me a Viton rubber pump, changed gas brands installed the pump and problem went away.
