ACER ASPIRE 4220 ADAPTER OVERHEAT WHEN I AM USING MY LAPTOP (AT AC POWER) THE TIP OF THE ADAPTER (THE ONE YOU PLUG INTO YOUR LAPTOP) OVERHEATS (AS IN BOILING HOT) WITHIN MINUTES. THAT HEAT ALSO PARTIALLY MELTED THE PLUG TIP (YELLOW PLASTIC-LIKE TIP OF THE ADAPTER) INTO SOMEWHAT LIKE A BROWNISH COLOR. I MADE SURE THAT THE PLUG IS SECURELY IN PLACE. BUT SOMETIMES, WHEN I PLUG THE ADPATER, THE LAPTOP DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT IT WAS PLUG-IN (THE ICON FOR THE LAPTOP POWER SOURCE SHOULD HAVE SAID ''CHARGING''). BUT OTHER TIMES WHEN I PLUG IT IN -- ITS NORMAL!!! (CHARGING AS IT SUPPOSE TO). I TRIED TO CHARGE MY LAPTOP WHEN THE COMPUTER IS OFF, BUT THE PLUG IS STILL OVERHEATS SOMETIMES. I THINK THE PLUG OF MY ADAPTER OR MY LAPTOP POWER SOCKET IS LOOSE. CAN THIS MAKE THE PLUG OVERHEAT??? WHAT DO YOU THINK CAUSE THIS?? WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS?? THANKS
Well there's definitely some cross wires. i think the solution to this problem is as simple as getting a new charger for it. i dont think its the computer at all. chords go bad they get faulty and sometimes they get bad enough to cause these problems. get a new chord and it should fix everything.
