Acer aspire 5920 power turns off when sd card inserted into slot
Hi i am a newbie on this site and only found it today!
I have an acer aspire 5920 laptop and recently purchased a micro sd card with adaptor for use with my laptop / samsung tocco mobile phone.
I slid the micro sd into the adapter and put the card into the sd slot on my computer.
before i could fully push the card in the power on my computer turned off.
I tried the card a few more times and the same thing happened.
i also tried a micro memory stick & adapter and the same thing happened with that.
I called in to curry's where i purchased the computer only to be told that my 7 months old computer needs repairing and COULD take upto 28DAYS!
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is most likly to be an internal fault, your laptop has saftety trips in it and if there is a short circuit or anything of the kind it will power itself off.
just going to have to wait out the 28 days, If you have an extended warrunty there is a possibility they will provide a courtesy laptop during repair, its unlikly but have a read through your documentation if you do.
Unfortunately it seems like a short circuit on your motherboard that Acer wold need to replace.
