Here are some possible causes and solutions to this problem:
1. It could possibly be that the contacts between the battery and the motherboard are not making a connection. Maybe something spilled in there or there some dust covering the contacts or some sort of dirt and they're not making a clean connection. One thing you can do is to pull the battery out, take a toothbrush and just scrub in between the pins of the battery there and also srub down the pins where the motherboard connection is. Put the battery in and turn the laptop on.
2. If the first one didn't solve the problem, try this: * Again, pull the battery out * Remove main supply * Hold power button down for 30 seconds. This will drain the charges in your battery. * Put only power supply in * Do not put battery in * Turn laptop on * Put the battery in
3. Here's another one: If your laptop is powering up through the AC power adapter of your laptop only because your laptop battery is bad, check the power source. Check to make sure that the power cable of your AC adapter is securely attached to your electrical outlet. Power cords do get bumped and strained, so it is possible that the best way to troubleshoot your computer's failure to start is to check the power sources carefully. If your computer is also plugged into a power strip or surge protector, make sure that these power sources are also functioning correctly. Don't hesitate to test them by using the reset switch. In addition, you can plug a lamp or other electronic device into the surge protector to make sure that it is working properly.
