Acquiring Signal I have a 3 year old Sirius SP2R receiver and most recently the receiver started to malfunction displaying a "Acquiring Signal" on LCD when the signal strength was strong, lose audio and 5-7 minutes of turning on unit. Any suggestions. This appears to be a popular complaint and sirius isn't willing to repair unit or replace with free one

I read this solution on a post someplace. It sounds so silly that I tried it and VOILA!!! It actually works! The secret? Put the receiver in the freezer. I know, I know, but it's free and too simple to ignore. I put it my PNP2 receiver in the freezer for a few hours. Actually I put it in once and left it in overnight. The next time (I turned it off and got the 'Acquiring Signal' message again when I turned it back on) I left it in the freezer and left for work. It just has to freeze. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Came home and plugged it back into my boombox and it works again. I''ll just leave it on w/ the volume off. See how long it lasts.
Try resetting it to defaults if you haven't done that yet. I had a similar problem with a Stratus 4, and that took care of it for me.. Sounds like perhaps some kind of NVRAM gets corrupted and a full reset clears it up.
