Adding new extension to Nortel Norstar Meridian Phone System
My office just got new wall jacks for voice and data for new desks. Now in my phone closet, phone patch panel has corresponding slots with the new wall jacks. The problem is I do not know how to connect the patch panel to my Meridian Phone system. (Thin wires that goes into panels) If there is a website telling me how to do install wires and add new extension to telephone directory, please let me know. Thanks. Just same problem i want to add more extentions but i dont know how.

You should have a panel designated for the system phones only and a panel for your wall jacks.
you only need to take two wires from the designated phone extension you want to activate to the wall jack you need activated. If you have a RJ 45 panel all you need to do is patch one end to the system phone port and the other end to the wall jack port make sure on the back side of the panel that the wires are punched down. The thin wires will need to be punched down with a special punch tool that you can purchase from Home depot or Lowes depending on what kind of panel it is. White/Blue,Blue/White,White/Org.Org/White.White Green/Grn/White.White/Brown.Brown/White.Solid White with violet color stripe.Solid Violet with white stripe is the color code in which to punch down for each cable. What city are you in may i ask?
You can try the documentation available at this link http://support.nortel.com/go/main.jsp?cscat=DOCUMENTATION&poid=8423&viewOptSelect=5|null
They include wiring diagrams for various configurations and should give you the information you need to complete the upgrade. Make sure you pick the guide(s) for the proper version of the equipment.
