After getting cable installed, I am not able to switch the input to use our dvd player and watch DVDs. The channel stays on 3 - and will not change. The outputs are connected directly to the tv and still will not change. Please help
Televison & Video - Imation - SpongeBob SquarePants Npower 15 in. LCD TV
You DO NOT use "Channels" you must select EXTERNAL INPUT, to be able to process, the DVD signal. You need to look in your TV manual for instructions to select an EXTERNAL INPUT, usually via the remote or the set's buttons, using the onscreen menu.
Hi, is the dvd player plugged directly into the back of the telly if it is then it may not come on until you put the cable into standby.
also switch the dvd player on and look on the telly remote for one of the following buttons av source input ext or a picture of a square or rectangle with arrow pointing to the right.
once you have found one of these buttons make sure the dvd player is on then press the button you may need to press it more than once depending on how many inputs the telly has, if pressing the buttons dont bring the dvd player on the telly then check the connections in back of telly pull the dvd lead out of the telly and refit it as it may just be slightly come loose when cable was installed also do the same the dvd player end just in case its worked loose.
let me know if it dont make any difference or if you need further assistance ok
it sounds like you have got a fault inside the telly itself if the dvd player works and the lead you are using works then this would rule out them being the fault, the chances are the solder has cracked on the actual video input board inside the telly its either that or it could even be a blown resistor, this would need testing to find out if its blown chip or cracked or cold solder joint that needs resolderingit sounds like you have got a fault inside the telly itself if the dvd player works and the lead you are using works then this would rule out them being the fault, the chances are the solder has cracked on the actual video input board inside the telly its either that or it could even be a blown resistor, this would need testing to find out if its blown chip or cracked or cold solder joint that needs resoldering
it could well be the cable guys fault but proving it would be near impossible the chances are it could be that moving the wires put pressure on the connectors inside the telly and caused solder to crack or come loose, it could also be static caused by installing the cable that caused it to go wrong as static is usually built up in the wires until its earthed out inside your telly.
proving it was the cable guy is a different thing all together.
put it all back as it was when he installed it and give them a call say the bloke just installed your cable and you was watching a dvd just before he came then after he installed it you wanted to watch the dvd again but it wont come back on and you never had a problem with it before.
your cable company will have insurance for problems due to installation so give them a call and explain what happened and hopefully they should come out and have a look at it for you.
cant hurt to give them a call can it

With devices connected and turned on go to menu settings, then find tuner or channel options and find a setting for autoprogram. Select it and let it run competely through. It will add all available channels and add them to it's memory
