After pressing On - the dishwasher just sits are about 80 degrees and doesn't get any hotter when normally it goes up to about 118. Can we still use it to wash or is something wrong?

I have the same problem on a lx18c, I read in the manuel that the machine is set at the long cycle time of 140 seconds for the 80 degree temp. The Machine says it has different cycle times, I want to know if changeing the cycle times to a shorter setting will get the machine to heat up. I checked the temp on the water supply at 100 degrees.
A hobart LXIH-3 uses a chemical to sanitize however a 120 degree wash temp is required as well.
Turn up your hot water tank that supplies the dishmachine, make sure your sanitizer is pumping into the rinse cycle using micro-clorine test papers and all is well.
There is a hi limit that is connected to the sump heater, remove the bottom panel and where the heater wires are connected you will see a hi limit, push the red button to reset it.
