First check the supply of the LCD monitor check the plug supply usually 110V or 220v use a voltmeter, if the voltage is present look for the indicator lights that is changing when power switch is press,the indicators tells you if the problem is in the power supply area of the LCD monitor or in the screen, usually the problem with the LCD monitors is in the screen check the bulb on top of the monitor check if it is not function well this bulb is responsible for the brightness of the screen if it is defective replace it or maybe the supply of the bulb is defective you can use the power supply of the cathode light as a replacement to its supply that is usually use in motorcycles signal lights.. hope this helps you..
