AGITATOR I just bought a used amana washer nav5800aww> seems to work fine, except part of the agitator floats up during the wash and does not turn or any thing. There does not seem to be any screws to hold it on. It just slides over a shaft. What is missing?

I bought an nav5800aww used and had the same issue. Mine was due to the coupler that attaches the auger to the agitator being worn out. I fixed it by removing the auger by pulling it up off the agitator, and putting four small screws through the tabs so that the points of the screws were pointing out. When I replaced the auger, the screws held it in place. That fix lasted about a year, but the plastic eventually got torn up enough that it doesn't work any more. You can find a replacement part online pretty easily
You are missing the coupling that holds the agitator to the shaft.
