Ais and 1920c Furuno chart plotter
I have connected a Furuno fa-100 AIS to a 1920c Furuno Chart Plotter through a 1500 Interface unit according to the instructions that came with the interface unit. The AIS feature soft key remains grey and the symbols do not show up on the chart plotter. The chart plotter has the 320b GPS receiver antenna. It is connected to port 2 on the 1920c. Please help.

Utstanding reputation of Furuno's original NavNet network's reliability, performance, and expandability. Like its predecessor, the NavNet VX2 System combines radar, GPS/WAAS chartplotter, fishfinder, and network weather FAX. From a stand-alone, single station, multifunction navigation center to a four-station integrated navigation network, NavNet VX2 lets you build your navigation system specifically to your needs. Utilizing state-of-the-art Ethernet network technology, NavNet VX2 provides seamless data sharing and vast future expandability while remaining completely compatible with the first generation NavNet System. Whether it is the radar and GPS/WAAS antennas that connect directly to the NavNet VX2 displays or the optional network sensors that connect through the Ethernet network, all of the data obtained from each sensor can be shared and controlled by every display on the network. Once you select your display package, plug the network black box sounder into any display or an Ethernet hub and turn the NavNet VX2 display into a high performance dual-frequency fishfinder. The BBWX1 Sirius Satellite Weather Receiver works with the C-Map MAX Displays to show weather maps, satellite images, NAVTEX, and other navigation information. And it doesn't stop there. The Rate Compensated Heading Sensor allows radar images to be overlaid on the chartplotter. The options and configurations are too numerous to list. The reality is Furuno's wide range of options fulfills virtually every need you may have for your navigation system. So dream up your ideal Furuno navigation system, and we'll help you put it together.
The 10.4" NavNet VX2 Display Package comes with one of eight different commercial-grade Furuno radar antennas. The output power of the antennas range from the sleek 2.2 kW radome to a powerful 25 kW open array. The 7" NavNet VX2 is available with your choice of a 2.2 kw or 4 kw radome antenna.

N the system setup, under “UNITS” I set BEARING to “MAG” (magnetic). This will cause the unit to display course / bearing information in relation to the Magnetic North and match magnetic compass readings. It is not the same as True North! One has to be careful with this setting. There are a number of areas where the earth's magnetic field is locally disturbed, sometimes very significantly. Your GPS may not account for it. - again, under “UNITS” I set “METRIC”.
