Alfa romeo 156 TS coolant keeps dropping
I took my car back to the garage about 2months ago as the coolant was low and the thermometer was reading high, they took it in and said it had a air lock in the tube, which they sorted and it's been fine, I checked my coolant about a week ago and it appeared to be low but the thermometer was reading normal, took it back to the garage and was told after it had been looked at that the 156 engine uses alot of coolant especially in the summer and that it hadn't reallly used much in the 2months since I had been before, he said that if it was low again just to top it up with water, I have never had to top a car up with water or coolant. Is this true or are they trying to fob me off until my waranty runs out in 4months.

Topping up with water is a temporary fix. It sounds like you have a leak. Take it to another dealership and explain your problem. They should be happy to fix it. It could be as simple as a hose not attached firmly or a bad hose...
