All remotes controlling my Onkyo TX-SR304 stopped working
Is it possible that the infrared is broken in the unit? I never heard of that happening before.
I have the RC-645S remote and three RCA universal remotes (that mainly control Mute and Volume for this particular unit).
The RC-645S stopped working altogether. Batteries are fresh. Is was intermittent for some time and I thought it might be the clear glass in front of the unit. Doesn't matter now. I use it mainly to change the input to watch a DVD, Mute and Volume. I don't use it to control any other components.
The RCA units all work on everything else (Guide and Info on my DVR, for instance) except Mute and Volume on the Reciever.

Try putting the remote an inch away from the IR receiver on the unit and see if it works then, if so then you definitely know its broken. This can and does happen. From what you have posted it sounds like no remote is working on the receiver, the ir receiver can break. If you need further assistance let me know.
