The wire linkage between the door and the safety interlock on our Amana Radarange Touchmatic RS-40 (mfg. 1988) broke with the door closed, so now we can't get it to open.

After removing the sheet metal cover, I can see an access hole in the interlock, presumably to open the door manually. But I can't figure out how to make it work. Push something in? Insert something and move up and down or side to side? Insert and rotate a special tool?

I don't have and haven't been able to find a service manual. Can you help - how do you open the door with no linkage to the interlock?
