This is likely a failed regulator/rectifier unit. Before replacing it though, inspect the wiring to make sure you don't have a broken wire. Unplug and replug the connectors to make sure it isn't just dirt or a loose connection to it. If that doesn't help, replace the regulator/rectifier.
