The other answers are good ones but try first cleaning your throttle body out look inside and see if it's dirty it should be also the throttle position sensor could be done your truck is now16-17 years old by the door sticker date the sensors get worn contacts inside as for the idle air control which you should do last if the problem persists it should clean out when your spraying injection cleaner and if your throttle plate and inside is very dirty use the whole can to clean it out and that should do it I to have seen many no codes thrown from bad sensors that are still functioning but I think your fuel choice might be a no name brand that doesn't have cleaning agents in it you should be using bp ,exxon ,shell, sunoco etc. Not valero delta liberty you get it the picture here also if that throttle body Is dirty add 2 cans of injection cleaner in the tank and change your fuel filter before you do it then after 1 month of 1 can every fill up change the filter again and keep using the cleaner for another month with good fuel all that stuff you see in the throttle body is also in the gas tank from egr and the evap system that sends unused fuel back to the tank to recirculating it again and when it does its sending the dirt with it good luck stephen Gumout or Berrimans is a very good choice of cleaners Berrimans $3.17 at Walmart I've been using it for over 20 years now and for carburetor rebuilds so there ya go
I would check to see if your car has any code stored. My first thought is fuel pressure low or air is not right/sensor not reading correct, running lean or rich. Check for vacuum leaks. There are a number of things which could bog the engine down but fuel and air has usually been my problems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBM6wbP7SM0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQnxgiHwnOs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRfaPfTcfOM https://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/explorer-bogging-down-help.197215/ https://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/02-sport-trac-bogs-down-while-trying-to-accelerate.401582/

I've seen them do that even without throwing a code when the catalytic converter is plugged up.
