Any ideas on how to remove a stripped screw from lawn mower, Briggs and Stratton, top plate, there are 3 screws and one is stripped not allowing the cover to come off
By stripped, do you mean the head is stripped, or are the threads stripped. Head stripped = Damaged Screw Extractor Drill Bits 4 in 1 Bolt Extractor Set Easy Out... Stripped threads = You need to "drill off" the head of the stripped screw. Get a sharp drill bit that is at least twice the size of the threads. Drill into the screw head until the entire head is gone or can be removed..Once the entire head is gone, you should be able to remove the cover..once the cover is off, you should be able to remove the screw with vise grips or other suitable tools.
