Apps on main screen won't fully close
A "No Event" block appeared on the main screen of my Samsung Eternity phone after I have the phone for 2 months. Now the calendar appears (see thru mode) on the main screen all the time, and I can't make either go away. I don't want to actually delete the calendar app, just fully close it. Any ideas?

This turned out to be just undocked apps from the quick access bar. I just had to drag them back to the quick access bar.
A more rigorous reading of the user's manual led me to this solution.
