Archos Recovery (code 2)

I have the Archos 504 and it is coming up with Recovery ( code 2 ). I have tried all 3 options of format disk, repair and No recovery but it just keeps going back to the same screen, have tried resetting it but still does same thing, PLEASE HELP. My Archos 604 WIFI has the same problem. I've reviewed in the forum and the only suggestion I found was to review the hard disk connection, I've opened the Archos and I can confirm that it's correct. At present the problem persists and I don't know what to do. Please, any help?

Send them back to Archos if they are still under warranty. If not, you're out of luck because they'll charge you about US$140 to repair the hard drive + postage.
