Ariston Microgenus 27mffi combi boiler
My boiler has an intermittent fault. The hot water and heating just stops working for no apparent reason then after either a few hours or days it starts again. I've contacted an engineer but by the time they can come to look for the fault, the boiler is working again and they said if it's working they wouldn't be able to find the fault! I've contacted Ariston but they told me to call out an engineer. I'm getting very frustrated with this. There are no warning lights when the fault happens and I've looked through the manual to try and get some idea. Do you think it could be the pump getting stuck or do you have any other ideas? Thank you for your help.

Im an engineer and recently had exactly the same thing with this ariston boiler, i found out it was the the 'air pressure switch', this is a switch which is part of the ignition, it works in conjuction with the fan. when the boiler fires up the air pressure switch makes, if its faulty it can break the circuit mid flow and cause the burner to shut down therefore giving intermittent hot water and heating, theres a possibility that the aps tubes may be damaged as well so ensure they'e condition is good. hope this helps you
