Astra Mega IIC startup issues
I just replaced the heating element in my mega IIC. I turned on the machine with the water level probe wire disconnected to fill the boiler. After the startup selft test, the water pump turned on, but flowed through both group heads as if I had hit both buttons at the same time. I've never seen this happen. My concern is that if I don't get the boiler filled, I'm going to burn up the heating element.
Any ideas?

Go ahead and keep the sensor probe connected. Open up the steam wands before turning the machine on the let the air bleed off as it fills. The element should not turn on if the water level is too low and the circuit is working properly. As for the groups pumping water, try hitting the Brew Stop buttons. If that doesn't work, something may be wired wrong, or your group solenoids may be stuck.
