Ok you may do soluton #1 make monitor show windows start. then enter windows-->enter control panel --> display--> setting --> monitor -->
choose the refrash frequency to lower stage (at least 60 Hz)
until no message pop on the monitor.
heop help you fix it.
Summary those solutions tel you know why you met this problem:
1) host and device has initial sequence, that should be:
turn on sequence: device (monitor) turn on --> host( your PC) turn on, turn off sequence: device turn off --> host turn off,
if any hardware operating aganst this sequence should be cause some initial problem, like yours
2) your PC has two VGA output (onboard and AGP card) there are different resolutions and might be different refresh frequency, also the monitor has recognize and memory first connected resolution and refresh Frequency setting from PC VGA port. if you change your VGA port but do not according power on/off sequence, the monitor still memory previous resolution or refresh freqency setting. so that the error pop message shold be occured. but it is never cause from the VGA cable it self.
this is a computer theory, just give you a sense.
please take a rating to our solution let our know how much helped you thanks! see you again.
What I had you do was to make sure your computer can recognize your monitor properly. The only other thing you may want to do is update your video drivers.
update the driver to if you can. I don't think its a video card problem.
cool, glad it worked don't forget to rate me please Nick, when you get the chance.

Sounds like you you have a video driver issues. Disconnect your monitor while your PC is still on, and then reconnect it, and perform a reboot...
