AUX problem between my laptop and NAD C 320BEE
The sound is coming from way back and choked when I connect my laptop via AUX cable to my NAD C 320BEE. I open the sound to full on amp and full on laptop and I can hardly hear it play. When I connect to main in via the same cable the amp acts as a monitor and plays back which makes me sure the cable is working. Is it a problem with my laptop's sound system or a problem on the amp where I input the AUX cable? Laptop's sound system is SoundMax HDAudio.

I would check on the Soundmax software set-up on the PC and make sure that the AUX is set for a line-out connect.
Also,make sure the tape monitor isnt on ..On the amp
