Get a owners manual online and try resetting/rebooting the reciever. Most newer receivers have a reset code which clears some of these issues - the reset code usually involves pressing a series of buttons on the front panel of the receiver.
If this doesn't work buy another one used on e bay as it will be much cheaper than hiring an electronics shop to tear the receiver apart. Most shops want money upfront and don't guarantee the repair. Plus you will be listening to music much quicker as the shop will have to procure parts.
