Back to Basics TEM-500 toaster no longer heats up
The toaster no longer heats up at all even though the indicator lights are on. It worked fine yesterday. Does it have a fuse or something that could be replaced?

We have the same problem after only about 20 uses. The customer service number is 1-800-688-1989...we may be able to get it replaced. If they aren't willing to do anything, I'm thinking of filing a complaint with our state Attorney General because there are SO MANY complaints of the SAME, idential problem from thousands of consumers!!!!
Remove top plastic cover from toaster. Remove knobs from side and 5 screws on bottom plate. Pull out side of top to clear contol plate. Top folds up and back over the toaster element. Look near egg cooking element and you will see two connections. A double wired yellow and double wired blue. Check and ensure the connections have not fallen off their pins (they are on very short wire connections and the slightest pressue will remove them). The yellow connection on my toaster fell off and when replaced the unit started to work again. Hope this helps
Mine were not removed. But i did disconnect the blue and the yellow wires at the plunge in by the egg plate and. Then it started working fine again. Thank you.

Thanks Ira. My toaster oven stopped toasting (but the egg poacher still worked).
I opened it up and while the yellow wire WAS still connected I disconnected it, along with another cable and simply plugged them back in. Tested it and everything works properly again.
