Bad front USB ports on a Compaq Presario 5000
I need to get the front USB ports on a Compaq Presario 5000 working.
There's a plug on wire leading from the front panel, and a place in the motherboard, but they don't match.
What I need is pinouts so that I can make an adapter.
I came here. I looked up "Compaq Presario 5000." I got something that SAID it was SUPPOSED TO BE the manual for the Presario 5000 desktop computer. It REALLY was a manual for a laptop computer of some kind (that's pronounced "USELESS")!
Problem #1:
If someone has the pinouts from USB1 on the motherboard and on that plug, I'd appreciate it.
Problem #2:
OTOH, if you're not going to help, you should at least not stand in my way and waste my time, like this site did. fixya.com is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Please re-insert the cable of the usb to the motherboard. i believe that there are 4 pins on usb1. now if this usb1 doesn't work, try the usb2. be careful when inserting the cable.
