Battery dont seem to hold charge
1 have a 1996 plymouth grand voyager se.i lost power and checked my battery the acid level was extremely low,i topped it off with spring water(it was what i had at the time).if i boost the van it starts immediately but it dont hold the charge.it runs fine after the boost.i drove a fair distance when i got to my destination i turned off the van and tried to start it and all i got was a clicking sound.but it will still start immediately with a boost. What can be causing this?i am not a mechanic but im thinking either my battery is shot or my starter relay.any help would be greatly appreciated.yhanks

On Mopars it is usually the positive but on some other makes try disconnecting the negative
Hi..
I read your problem.
And I recomend as First step..
Get the battery checked, if you don't have a battery tester.
You can go to any Autoparts, and they will check the Battery
and Alternator for proper charging
For you with no charge. Advance, autozone, Napa, Carquest,
Bumper to bumper, Papco Autoparts.
Your problem look to be a Battery problem.
if the battery is weak or discharged,
You will hear only " click when you try to start.
I hope this work on your question,
Thank you for use fixya...
It is not your battery but your regulator in your altenator. a quick check for this is start the vehicle then remove the positive cable from the battery if it dies it's the altenator. if it doesn't that means you have a draw on the battery from some other source. check this out and keep me posted please rate this
