ALL JD Tractors have a seat switch. But you have several other safety switches as well. Neutral safety switch, Mower clutch off switch. Pedal Switch. On the back of the key switch there are several wires. you should see two yellow wires. Put a jumper across these two wires and try again to start it. If that solves your problem one of your safety switches is bad. But I would start with the seat switch. Unplug it and install a jumper across the wires going to the frame. Then try to start it. 9-10 times its that switch that goes bad.
