REMOVE MAINS POWER COMPLETELY, then remove the plastic covers from base of machine and sponge out the bottom catch tray
I'll also add - I've just diagnosed on my machine that the polystyrene float that trips the microswitch to cause this error, can get stuck to the drip tray, rendering it useless. This will allow too much water to accumulate in the tray. Result - water level too great and spills into the shield stuck onto the bottom of the motor, and in my case seems to be the cause of the fuse-board tripping when the motor tries to start (I'll piost back if fitting new motor cures the problem). I now know where to get a new pump/motor at a fraction of the cost of the usual suppliers.....
I have "fixed" this problem - don't allow the flat base of the styrene float to rest flat on the base of the drip tray, stick something, anything (no more than 2 mm thick) to the catch tray under the float.
Yes, the new pump/motor assembly has cured the board tripping, so the motor must have been damaged by water getting into it, although it doesn't appear to have signs of damage to the windings. Only time will tell but all is well now, and the cost of replacement justified giving it a go.
If anyone wants to know where I got the new motor at a third of the cost of a "genuine" replacement, click on my dame and "Ask Me".
