Baumatic fridge freezer

Fridge doesnt ever seem cold enough even on setting of 6. Freezer is fine. it is a fitted fridge/freezer and I am concerned that something is wrong with it. It is only 8 months old. Have used a thermometer and it reads tween 8 - 9 C. As a chef I know it should be much lower. How do you know if the quick switch freezer setting has been turned on???
