Bernina 180E Touch Screen Dark, machine light won't come on
Bernina 180 touch screen is black, sewing machine light doesn't turn on. I have checked the cords that plug into the circuit board on the front, they are all plugged in. Checked the board on the back of the machine, same. Machine has power, will do regular sewing, I can use the knob to adjust the width and length of the stitch, reverse stitch works as well. Even while running, touch screen is black. Nothing there at all. Any idea what part to replace?

I don't know the circuit of this sewing machine but it gives me the impression the light and the board are in series with a fuse. If this is true the light will burn out and cause the screen to go black as well. If the fuse would go out the same thing would be true. Anyway, change the light first. If this doesn't work you will need to replace the fuse. If there are still problems it will need the mother board to be replaced. Tell me how this worked out.
Jimmie, well, I have replaced both boards in the machine, the L print and the S print. STILL no light on, still no touch screen working.About the only thing I can think of now is having to replace the LCD in it, not the touch screen but the actual LCD part. It is my next best guess.
After replacing /replacing the screen or the main print the plug connections are not connected correctly. A stitch can still be selected. Check the black plug connectors and make sure they are not upside down.
