Bernina 930 Record presser foot lever won't move. On the inside you can see the shaft going up and down but nothing happens to the presser foot. It is currently in the up position but won't go down
I suspect the machine has seized due to lack of regular oiling. The old oil turns to varnish and acts like glue preventing the parts from moving freely.
CAUTION: your 930 has a basting stitch that will tend to lock up if it is accidentally oiled (or if it hasn't been used for a long time). AVOID applying oil to the middle of the take-up bar (right next to the basting stitch dial behind the case)! A frozen basting stitch is evident when the needle is at its highest point and will not descend.
Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...
